Our audiences in Bridgwater are always enthusiastic, and last night’s ‘There’ll Always be an England’ concert, on behalf of the Marketeers Carnival Club, was certainly no exception!

Themed to mark the centenary of the ending of the First World War, it was new Musical Director, Ceri Thomas’s first concert with us, which saw him don a very un-English waistcoat for the Proms ending – all in good fun, of course!  We again shared the stage with the fabulous Somerset Songbirds ladies choir, and solo vocalist Sophie Morris and her ladies quartet ‘Sopranomme’.  BBC Radio Bristol presenter, Emma Britton, once again hosted the event in her usual inimitable fun and relaxed style.  A capacity audience certainly thoroughly enjoyed it all, joining with gusto in all the song medleys from the era and the traditional Proms conclusion.  A great night was had by all!
