As with just about every brass band in the Nation, we have had a busy weekend marking the 100th Anniversary of the end of World War One.

On Friday evening, it was our pleasure to perform in Princes Hall, Clevedon at the Great War Commemorative Concert, along with members of Clevedon Light Opera Club, Clevedon Players and Clevedon Comedy Club.  The hall was bedecked with union flags (and sandbags!), and a near capacity audience enthusiastically joined in all the songs from the era, accompanied by ourselves, of course!  Our thanks go to John Bryant, who arranged most of the music specially for the event.  All profits from the night were in aid of Blind Veterans UK (formerly St Dunstans).

As usual, Remembrance Day itself saw us provide the music for Weston-super-Mare’s annual parade in the beautiful surroundings of Grove Park.  Luckily the sun shone throughout the proceedings, and the poignanancy of this special occasion was certainly not lost on the biggest turnout the event has ever seen.  It was streamed live on You Tube and can be viewed at:
