It’s only a week to go to the big day itself, and we are still very busy playing Christmas music and carols in and around the Weston Area. We have already ticked off at least 16 of our planned outings over the festive period, including two fantastic and immensely enjoyable Christmas concerts, and numerous carolling sessions in Weston High St, Cadbury Garden Centre and Worle supermarkets Sainsburys and Morrisons. Please see our Events page for more information on our sessions over the coming week.
Our two Christmas concerts were truly amazing! We were again delighted to support the award-winning Marketeers Carnival Club in their sell-out ‘Carols by Candlelight’ concert in Bridgwater Town Hall on Saturday 8th December. Our second performance was our own Annual Christmas Concert at The Winter Gardens, Weston super Mare on Sunday 9th December, which was very well attended and featured our Training Band. Both concerts were shared with the terrific Somerset Songbirds ladies choir and were great fun! Band members took a break from tradition and everyone dressed in their own Christmas costumes for the second half of each concert, making for a very jovial atmosphere and some very positive comments from the audiences.
After a short break after Christmas we will be knuckling down to rehearsing for the next contest in March, which is the all-important Regionals, held in Torquay. Hopefully we will all be tinsel and turkeyed out by then, and ready to start 2019 with gusto.
All of us in Weston Brass wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
