Here we are in 2020 already!  We are not quite done with turkey and tinsel yet though.  After a frantic, but successful Christmas Season of concerts and carolling, we are now back in the Bandroom getting ready to record a CD this weekend – of  Christmas music!  It should be available to purchase later in the year.  Watch this space for further details and get your stocking fillers early!

The exciting news we have is that, after the very sad departure of Musical Director Carl Whiteoak a few months ago (due to family committments) we have now secured the awesome talents of rising star Lewis Wilkinson.  Lewis (24) is currently undertaking a Masters Degree in Conducting at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and comes to us with an already impressive and diverse background in the music business, having recently conducted several Championship Section bands, orchestras, choirs and other music groups.  Lewis moved down from his native Durham and is quickly learning to understand our West Country accents!  Likewise, we are getting to grips with his Northumbrian lilt!

We are equally as delighted to also welcome another ‘Lewis’ into the fold in the form of Lewis Glynn, who joins us on Eb Bass.  Lewis has recently moved to Somerset from further South and we are extremely pleased to have him on board.

Returning to Weston Brass soon is Abi Roberts.  Abi was a band member during her student years at Bristol University, but returned to her home in Cornwall after she graduated.  She is now back in the Bristol area to pursue her career and we are overjoyed that she will once again be part of our band family.

We hope all three will enjoy and long and happy time at Weston Brass.
