Weston Brass competed in the West of England Regional Championships last Saturday, having been newly promoted back into the Second Section. We played our hearts out with a performance of Dean Goffin’s ‘Rhapsody in Brass’ and received some extremely favourable comments from a lot of people who know a good band when they hear one! Unfortunately, the 2 adjudicators didn’t agree, so there was no trophy to bring home on this occasion. However, it was a good day at a very well-run contest and we would like to publicly thank our Musical Director, Bryn James, for taking us by the scruff of the neck and working us extremely hard over the past few months to produce the performance we all know we are capable of.
